Few visitors to Glacier Park fail to come away with a photograph of St Mary Lake taken from the popular Wild Goose Island scenic overlook. In the winter, with the road closed to vehicles six miles to the west of the overlook, it is only the rare visitor on skis or snowshoes who has the opportunity to photograph the lake from this vantage point.
