Glacial Lake |
Numerous lakes can be found among the high peaks of Glacier National Park. Fed by streams formed by the melting of the Glaciers, many of these lakes display the characteristic turquoise color of glacial lakes. The color comes from light being dispersed by finely glacier-ground rock suspended in the water. Many of these glacial lakes, like the one pictured here, are unnamed. |
